Adebayor threatens to quit City
Emmanuel Adebayor have threatened to quit Manchester City if big-spending manager Roberto Mancini doesn’t play him regularly this season.
Adebayor had been left on the bench for City’s opening two league matches this season before returning to the team for Thursday’s Europa League victory against Timisoara.
The former Arsenal star may be back among the substitutes when City travel to Sunderland on Sunday, especially if new signing Mario Balotelli recovers from a knee injury.
Adebayor is not ready to be consigned to a bit-part role for the rest of the campaign and is willing to consider a transfer if the right club comes in for him.
Craig Bellamy has already moved to Cardiff on loan after losing his place, while Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz also look set to leave as Mancini’s spending spree forces out a host of big-name players.
